Jan. 3, 2001 -- A fire destroyed a single family home in the Narrows in Forrest City yesterday evening. The cause of the blaze is still undetermined. Firehouse 7 responded to a 911 call made by a neighbor and found the home already engulfed by the flames.  By the time firefighters were able to extinguish the fire, the house had been completely destroyed. 

     In the aftermath of the tragic fire, firefighters discovered the burned body of a woman, presumed to be Kerri McBride who lived at the home with her children, a son and a daughter. The children were both spending the night with a relative when the fire occurred.  The body was burned beyond recognition.
