PROFILE: DETECTIVE JOHN BLUSSON
Forrest City police detective John Blusson has been leading the investigation into the Ripper murders in Forrest City since the first killing on August 27, 1891. Det. Blusson was the first to recognize the uncanny similarities between the first Forrest City murder and the Ripper's previous murders in the Whitechapel area of London.
Detective Blusson contacted Chief Inspector Frederick Abberline at Scotland Yard about the possibility that the Ripper had moved his base of operations to Forrest City in 1891. Inspector Abberline provided Det. Blusson with his Jack the Ripper investigation documents and also personally visited Forrest City twice to assist with the investigation.
